This carbon cartridge is an industry standard size of 10 and is nominally rated at 5 micron for particle removal, but also has water softening qualities, so it can be used in hard water areas where build up of limescale in kettles and other cooking appliances is a problem. It also removes sediment, bad taste and odours, chlorine, organic chemical and herbicides and pesticides.
