INNOSOL ORIGO BRIGHT - Treatment Time 45 Minutes

Innosol Origo is an attractive and effective design bright light lamp designed by Eero Aarnio. His playful design is reflected from Origo's warm and round contour. He has conceptualized sunshine in a bag, with this light therapy lamp, its is more sculptural than medical in style and design.

For people who need a light therapy unit, but are looking for something a little different. The Origo makes a cool style statement in your home or office and can still provide light therapy.

Reminiscent of the sun over the top of a mountain, this light is not only good to look at, it will do you good. Made to stringent medical standards, and certified to treat SAD, it gives off a pleasing light that will energise you and lift your mood. Delivering a therapeutic 5000 lux of light, you only need to use it for 45 minutes a day for SAD treatment, or can keep in on all day to benefit from its natural healthy daylight. This will help to combat eye fatigue, and help to create a more pleasant environment for you to work and live in.

The upper part of Origo forms a smooth handle so that it is easy to carry and place in different locations as an eye catche. Thanks to its dimmer, Origo can be used as a cosy interior lamp outside the bright light therapy season.

The dimmer is located on the lower front of the lamp and the power switch in the electric cord. The entire lamp shade is of flexible and durable plastic giving an effective, globally dispersed light.
Therapy distance 65 cm (2.500 lux)
Light temperature 4000 K (natural white)

The Origo top of the range SAD Light Box from finland comes complete with a UK plug and UK power.

A little bit about the designer:

Eero Aarnio (born 1932)
Interior architect, designer, professor h.c.
Eero Aarnio is one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. He became very famous after he had introduced his Ball and Pastil chairs made of fibreglass in 1960s. The production of these hit classics have been going on for decades, until today.

The Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms (SLTBR) recommends light therapy as the best non-drug therapy to treat seasonal depression.

Light levels determine the sleep / wake cycles of both animals and humans. The desire to sleep is brought on by the secretion of Melatonin, and the bright natural light or the light from a SAD lamp significantly reduces Melatonin, greatly improving our energy levels. Typical symptoms of SAD are depression, lethargy, anxiety, craving, social problems, sleep problems and loss of libido. These symptoms can be commonly resolved through the use of The Origo SAD light box.

Light therapy has been proved effective in up to 85 per cent of diagnosed cases of Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD. For more information about Seasonal Affective Disorder and its Treatment please read our FAQ page.

When's the best time to use the Sunny light box?
Most people find that light therapy in the mornings works best so, if you are just starting out, try this first. Try not to use your light late in the evening though (i.e. within 3 hours of going to bed) as you may find it difficult to get to sleep.

If you have trouble waking up in the mornings then you should definitely use a light box first thing.
